Notifier was founded in 1949 by Mr. and Mrs. Oliver T Joy in Waverly, Nebraska. Notifier eventually relocated their facility to Lincoln Nebraska where company blossomed into one of the major players in the fire alarm industry. Notifier was purchased by the Pittway Group along with System Sensor, Fire Lite and several other companies. In 1993 Notifier received ISO9001 approvals as one of the first fire alarm manufacturer to do so. In 200X Pittway sold it’s interest in Notifier, along with System Sensor, Fire Lite and the other companies held by Pittway to Honeywell.

Notifier manufactures equipment to UL and Factory Mutual Standards, and European EN-54 standards. Notifier has equipment which has obtained US Coast Guard approvals and Type approval from Lloyds Register of Shipping for marine applications.
From a 2 Zone to a 120 zone conventional panel with dialers to central stations to Small to Large Addressable panels to networked panels, voice evacuation and smoke control systems, and now even information over the internet. With the Lonworks interface it’s now even possible to provide data communications with building automation systems.

Notifier has provided a high quality fire alarm panel ranging from the single zone panel to the now modern Onyx 3030 panel.

Originally a privately held company, Notifier was purchased by the Pittway company and then again by Honeywell. These acquisitions coupled with others and a highly technical staff of engineers focused on what the public demands, have made Notifier a world recognized manufacture of high quality fire alarm product.

One of the major reasons for Notifier's success is its steadfast commitment to quality.  First in the industry to be approved under ISO 9001 standards in April, 1993, Notifier employs professionals in research, design, engineering and production.  These dedicated professionals work as a tight-knit team to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
